History (Corporate development of the former business company)

1928

Toden Denkyu Co., Ltd., was established in Ryogoku, Fukagawa-ku, Tokyo, Japan, to manufacture lightbulbs.

1929

Shibaura Denki Kogyo Co., Ltd., was established to repair and manufacture electrical equipment as well as to inspect purchased equipment.

1932

Toden Denki Shohin Co., Ltd., was established to sell electrical appliances.

1938

These three companies merged under the new name of Toden Denkyu Co., Ltd., which changed the company name to Toko Electric Corporation in the next year.

1948

Began the manufacture and sales of fluorescent lamp. With an increase in demand for home appliances for the occupation troops, the sales of electrical products and the orders for electrical work were boosted.

1953

Succeeded the electricity meter service business. Took over the business rights of Kyodo Denki Seisakujo Co., Ltd., and Oji Denki Kogyosho Co., Ltd., to resume the repair of electricity meters.

1958

Began contracted business of expired electricity meter replacement. Began new contracted business of expired meter replacement, assuming the rationalization of coherent operation of meter business conducted by Tokyo Electric Power Company.

1960

Began the manufacture and sales of oil-filled swithes. With an increase in electricity demand during the period of rapid economic growth, worked on the increase in the number of the electricity distribution lines and measures against electric voltage and began the development, manufacture, and sales of new products.

1965

Began the manufacture and sales of power system eqwipment.

1969

Began the manufacture and sales of 6 kV molded type instrument transformers.

1971

Began the manufacture and sales of hight-voltage airswitches.

1993

Constructed a new painting plant at the site in Saitama to begin the development of products toward distribution automation.

2000

Installed an APG cast molding machine made in Germany.

2003

Delivered an outdoor molding Earthed Voltage Transformer.

2004

Completed the construction of Oval Court Osaki Mark East.

Established TAKAOKA TOKO Holdings Co., Ltd., to improve the competitiveness and speed of both companies and to meet the needs of the society by concentrating and restructuring the corporate resources of both of them. TAKAOKA TOKO Holdings Co., Ltd., was established as a joint holding company of Toko Electric Corporation and Takaoka Electric Mfg. Co., Ltd.

2013

Began the agency business for American-based SEL.
September 8, 2024 We TKTK will terminate its duties as a SEL Distributor.

Takaoka Electric Mfg. Co., Ltd., was established and began the operation in Takaoka Town, Nagoya City.

Constructed Hamamatsu Techno Center in Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka.
Acquired the US patent for the 3D Visual Inspection System and then began the sales of the device.
